Are Delta 10 THC Tinctures Right For You?

Delta-10 is on the rise, but finding a safe and suitable product can be tricky for the health-conscious. With tinctures, you can experience the unique psychoactive effects of delta-10 without having to smoke or vape.

Delta-10 tinctures cover all the bases – they are versatile, convenient, discreet, and effective! In this post, I’ll explain why delta-10 oils have these qualities as I help you discover whether they are right for you.

Before we dig into the specifics, let’s start by checking out the five best delta-10 tinctures available today.

ELYXR LA Delta 10 Nano-Infused Tinctures

ELYXR LA Delta 10 Nano-Infused Tinctures

ELYXR LA takes delta-10 seriously, and its nano-infused tincture oils are the jewels in their crown. Each tincture contains a substantial 1000mg delta-10 extract (33.3mg/ml), blended with botanical terpenes and MCT oil.

You may know that cannabinoids have a low bioavailability – meaning most of a delta-10 dose never makes it into your system. But with nanotechnology, ELYXR LA has developed premium delta-10 oils that go further than your typical tinctures.

Apply ELYXR LA’s delta-10 tinctures under the tongue or add to food and drink. Just don’t vape them! Choose from four blends, including refreshing Peppermint and fruity Blood Orange. Checked for potency and Farm Bill compliance by Verde Testing.

Blends: Blood Orange, Citrus, Lavender, Peppermint

Binoid CBD Delta 10 THC Tinctures

Binoid CBD Delta 10 THC Tinctures

A specialist in hemp-derived legal highs, Binoid CBD, has manufactured a stellar set of super-potent delta-10 tinctures. Even better, unlike brands that mix delta-8 into their delta-10 products, Binoid infuses pure delta-10 distillate into its tincture oils.

Binoid uses an MCT-based carrier oil, which increases the absorption of delta-10 into your system and the intensity of your dose. With such high doses, prepare for more powerful effects than usual and uplifting, euphoric sensations.

First-time delta-10 users should stick with the 1000mg option, but if you’re familiar with marijuana, the 2500mg and 5000mg oils may be more to your liking. Third-party lab reports are provided by PharmLabs San Diego.

Strengths: 1000mg (33.3mg/ml), 2500mg (83.3mg/ml), 5000mg (166.6mg/ml)

Serene Tree Delta 10 THC Tinctures

Serene Tree Delta 10 THC Tinctures

Enjoy a clean and crisp delta-10 high with a tasty tincture from Serene Tree. Made with locally sourced CBD hemp flower, MCT oil, and delta-10 concentrate with 89% purity, expect potent and calming psychoactive effects.

Serene Tree does not use any delta-9-THC in its tincture oils but does sprinkle in a few natural and artificial flavorings. For a classic, earthy hemp taste, I recommend picking up the Unflavored tincture.

With 1000mg hemp extract infused into a 30ml bottle, each serving (one full dropper) consists of more than 30mg active cannabinoids. Serene Tree’s hemp-based products are third-party tested by High-Class Ventures.

Flavors: Orange Birch, Strawberry Peach Apple, Unflavored

Delat Extrax Vibin’ Premium Delta 10 THC Tincture

Delat Extrax Vibin

Delta Extrax’s Euphorica Collection has a solid reputation, and the Vibin Premium Delta-10 Tincture lives up to its billing. Enjoy a gorgeous mash-up of Sour Blueberry OG and Sour Diesel terpenes in this delightful 1000mg (33.3mg/ml) hybrid product.

The hybrid blend works beautifully, providing a cerebral high and soothing couchlock effect. Delta Extrax’s Vibin Tincture is perfect for relaxing in the evenings while retaining a level of focus and concentration.

The Vibin’ Tincture contains 70% (700mg) delta-8 and 30% (300mg) delta-10, in addition to MCT oil, hempseed oil, and terpenes. Delta Extrax suggests a ½ dropper initial serving. Third-party tested by PharmLabs San Diego.

Burman’s Health Shop – Pie Delta 10 THC Tinctures

Burman’s Health Shop

Enhance motivation, improve focus, and revel in the uplifting effects of delta-10 with a Pie tincture oil from Burman’s Health Shop. Delta-10’s stimulating properties make it the ideal cannabinoid for daytime consumption.

These Burman’s Health Shop tinctures contain clean delta-10 distillate and natural terpenes. They suggest pairing the oil with delta-8, but I don’t think that’s necessary – delta-10 is an excellent cannabinoid as it is.

Pie Delta-10 Tinctures come in 30ml (1 fl oz) bottles with a dropper attached to the cap for accurate and hassle-free dosing. Colorado’s Botanacor laboratory provides the third-party certificate of analysis for this delta-10 oil.

Strengths: 1000mg (33.3mg/ml), 2500mg (83.3mg/ml)

What are Delta 10 Tinctures?

Delta-10 tinctures are hemp-based oils containing large quantities of delta-10 – and often hefty amounts of delta-8, too. Delta-10 is a mildly psychoactive cannabinoid and a THC analog that was first discovered in the 1980s.

Most delta-10 tinctures consist of hemp-derived delta-10 distillate, plant-based terpenes, and an MCT-based carrier oil. The terpenes offer flavor and amplify a tincture’s effects, while the MCTs improve delta-10 absorption.

You may enjoy delta-10 tinctures if you prefer mellow highs to the intensity of modern-day marijuana products. Moreover, with tincture oils, you can experience a fast-acting high, without exposing your lungs to harmful smoke or vapor.

Are delta 10 tinctures legal?

legal

Yes, hemp-based delta-10 tinctures with less than 0.3% THC are federally legal in the United States. The 2018 Agriculture Improvement Act (Farm Bill) de-scheduled hemp and cannabinoids such as delta-10.

Delta-10 tinctures typically don’t have any THC, with brands using purified delta-10 distillate. However, not everybody is happy about the legal loophole that has led to the emergence of psychoactive hemp-based products.

Delta-10 companies are a little sneaky with how they go about creating tincture oils and other delta-10-infused products. Most delta-10 is made from hemp instead of being extracted from hemp. Let me explain.

Hemp plants either generate tiny amounts of delta-10 or none. That makes extraction extremely difficult and far more expensive than it would ever be worth. Therefore, chemists create delta-10 in labs using CBD extract.

Generating delta-10 in this way is cheap and efficient, and makes delta-10 products possible. The process is controversial, but delta-10 is still legal as it doesn’t meet the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) definition of a synthetic cannabinoid.

How to Use Delta 10 Tinctures

Hemp-based tinctures are famously versatile. Before we discuss sublingual absorption and oral ingestion, I should say you can apply delta-10 topically, too. This may yield therapeutic benefits (i.e., pain relief) but it won’t make you high.

Sublingually (under the tongue)

Taking delta-10 tinctures sublingually provides the fastest-acting and most potent high. Sublingually absorbed delta-10 has slightly higher bioavailability, giving you more bang for your buck.

Follow your product’s dosage guidelines, typically ½ or a full dropper, and administer the oil under your tongue. The earthy flavor may be unpleasant but holding the oil for 45 to 60 seconds will ensure you start feeling high within 15 to 20 minutes.

Orally

Immediately swallowing delta-10 oil or stirring some into your beverage or meal produces an edible-like high. You may want longer-lasting effects if you’re taking delta-10 in the evenings to unwind and help with sleep.

Oral ingestion of tinctures works well when you need discretion. Perhaps you want to get high when with non-partaking family members during the holidays! Delta-10 oil doesn’t smell and you can easily dose up without anyone noticing.

Delta 10 Tinctures vs. Other Tinctures

Delta 10 Tinctures vs. Other Tinctures

Cannabis and hemp users are spoiled for choice nowadays, with several excellent cannabinoids going mainstream in recent years. But how does delta-10 stack up against them?

Delta 10 vs. CBD

Firstly, delta-10 is mind-altering, while CBD isn’t. If you want relaxation without intoxication, then non-psychoactive CBD oil is what you need.

However, for a mellow, uplifting high that’s milder than marijuana, delta-10 is the way to go. As a moderately intense substance, delta-10 causes few side effects but makes you euphoric. If you’re happy to get high, choose delta-10.

Delta 10 vs. HHC

Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is a semi-synthetic cannabinoid recognized for its likeness to THC. Anecdotes suggest HHC is almost as potent as genuine marijuana, although it does have a more sedating effect.

Compared to delta-10, HHC is more psychoactive, which could be problematic if mind-altering cannabinoids trigger anxiety or paranoia in you.

However, if you’re okay with psychoactive effects, I see delta-10 and HHC as complementing rather than competing substances. Energizing delta-10 works wonders during the day, while HHC oil can help you chill and destress at night.

Delta 10 vs Delta 8

Delta-10 and delta-8 are THC analogs, with the latter a little more psychoactive – however, both are much milder than THC. Reports vary on the more nuanced effects of delta-10 and delta-8, but both appear to have stimulating and uplifting properties.

Indeed, most delta-10 products combine the two cannabinoids, with delta-8 levels often exceeding the amount of delta-8. If I’m splitting hairs, delta-8 will make you a bit higher, whereas delta-10 will reduce your risk of experiencing side effects.

Do Delta 10 Tinctures Show Up on Drug Tests

Drug Tests

Yes, standard drug tests can detect delta-10 tinctures, even if they don’t contain THC. The chemical similarity between delta-10 and THC means that drug tests cannot tell the difference despite delta-10 being legal.

This is because 5 and 9-panel tests have a strip that tests for tetrahydrocannabinols and not necessarily the specific THC metabolite.

If you do test positive, it’ll be hard to convince your employer that you were taking a legal substance. And even if you do, they may still regard you as under the influence. After all, alcohol is legal, but it’s banned in the workplace.

What to Look for When Purchasing Delta 10 Tinctures

What to Look for When Purchasing Delta 10 Tinctures

Delta-10 tinctures are less common than vaping products and edibles but are steadily growing in popularity. However, not all oils are high-quality, and some shifty brands might not be putting any delta-10 in them at all.

Look out for the following when shopping for delta-10 tinctures.

Independent lab reports

These should be your first consideration. If a delta-10 manufacturer cannot provide independent certificates of analysis (COAs) for its products, there is probably something wrong with them.

Third-party lab-testing shines a light on the potency, purity, and legality of delta-10 tinctures. Lab reports show whether a product has more THC than the legal limit or if they are selling you short on delta-10.

COAs also look for unwanted substances, like heavy metals and residual solvents. These foreign materials may be lurking in products made using inferior extraction processes.

Delta 8 to delta 10 ratio

Delta-10 tinctures rarely consist of pure delta-10 – most contain a healthy amount of delta-8, too. While similar in effects, delta-8 is a bit stronger; therefore, products with a greater delta-8 to delta-10 ratio will make you higher.

If you’re looking for the mellowest high possible, choose tinctures prioritizing the delta-10. I recommend the Binoid products listed earlier in my review.

Carrier oil

Delta-10 tinctures should have an MCT-based carrier oil rather than vegetable glycerin. MCTs make delta-10 molecules more bioavailable and absorbable, getting you more stoned than plain delta-10 extract would.

Hempseed oil is another top carrier oil option, as it’s teeming with critical omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

How to Store Delta 10 Tinctures

Keep delta-10 tinctures in a cool, dry, dark place, away from direct sunlight and out of the reach and sight of children. Never leave products lying around on the kitchen table or worktop, as the sun’s UV rays can destroy the active cannabinoids.

How Long do Delta 10 Tinctures Last?

How Long do Delta 10 Tinctures Last

A typical delta-10 tincture high should last up to four hours when consumed sublingually and up to eight hours when taken orally.

Several factors can influence the duration of your high, such as speed of metabolism and taking delta-10 on a full or empty stomach. Regular delta-10 users will build tolerance and might find their high wears off more quickly.

Purchasing Delta 10 Tinctures Online vs. Shops Near Me

Online vs. Shops Near Me

Established online hemp stores with experience selling other cannabinoids (i.e., CBD and delta-8) should be your go-to place for delta-10 tinctures. These companies know the industry inside out and can spot scammers from a mile away.

Local brick-and-mortar stores, such as gas stations, don’t have this crucial knowledge and could be tricked into selling fake delta-10. They also don’t have the product variety you can expect to find online.
