What is Delta 10 THC?
Delta-10-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-10) is a cannabinoid with mildly psychoactive properties found in the cannabis plant – albeit in low quantities. Delta-10 is a THC analog and binds with CB1 receptors in the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
However, research suggests that delta-10 is significantly less intense than THC. Studies show that another THC analog, delta-8, is around 50% as potent as THC, with delta-10 even milder than delta-8.
The reduced psychoactive effects come from delta-10 forming a weaker bond with CB1 receptors than its counterparts. Delta-10 has a low binding affinity at the CB1 receptor, and you’ll need to take much more of it to enjoy a typical cannabis high.

How to take delta 10 THC
You can consume delta-10 in a few different ways, with each method providing a unique experience. In this section, I want to talk about smoking, vaping, sublingual absorption, and oral ingestion of delta-10.
Smoking: The classic method of taking cannabis and hemp – and, for many, still the best! Whether smoking in a joint or from a bong, this is the speediest way to get baked with delta-10 and will give you the most intense high.

Vaping: Retain the fast-acting effects of smoking while minimizing the health risks by vaping delta-10. Most scientists agree that vaping is substantially less risky than smoking.

Delta 10 THC vs. Other Cannabinoids
With several psychoactive cannabinoids to choose from, it’s not easy to work out if delta-10 is right for you. Of course, you could experiment on a trial-and-error basis, but here’s a rough look at how delta-10 stacks up against other cannabinoids.
Delta 10 THC vs. Delta 8 THC
Delta-10 and delta-8 are similar substances, with the latter considered slightly more potent. Indeed, most delta-10 products contain more delta-8 than delta-10!
Unless you’re prone to cannabis-induced side effects, I’d stick with delta-8 over delta-10. There’s not much difference between the two, but delta-8 should make you a little higher.
Delta 10 THC vs. HHC
Anecdotal evidence suggests that delta-10 is more energizing than THC, whereas hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is more relaxing. HHC is also more potent than delta-10, with psychoactive effects of comparable intensity to THC.
If you want a mellow, daytime high, the moderate delta-10 works a treat. But for chilling out in the evenings, powerful and relaxing HHC is likely better. Rather than choosing, why not buy both and have them complement each other?
Delta 10 THC vs. THC-O
THC-O-acetate (THC-O) is a psychedelic-like cannabinoid suitable for hardcore psychonauts. Potentially three times more intense than THC, you’ll probably love THC-O if classic marijuana isn’t doing it for you anymore.
But at six times the strength of delta-10, be careful! If you ever suffer from bad trips with marijuana, stay with delta-10. Ultimately, neither delta-10 nor THC-O is better than the other – they are different cannabinoids targeted at different users.
Will Delta 10 THC Make Me Fail a Drug Test?
Yes, delta-10 products could make you fail a drug test. Both 5 and 9-panel drug tests check for tetrahydrocannabinols. Unfortunately, with delta-10 and THC being chemically alike, they also have similar metabolites.
Delta-10 may be federally legal, but drug tests aren’t sophisticated enough to tell the difference between such closely related cannabinoids. If you pop for delta-10, you may have to prove your innocence, which could be hard to do.

Independent certificates of analysis (COAs)
Protect your wellbeing and your wallet by purchasing from reputable hemp brands that provide third-party lab reports. Due to the lack of FDA regulation, independent certification is the only seal of approval for delta-10 products.
COAs should be no more than a few months old and cover delta-10 and THC levels. Ideally, third-party labs should also test for bacteria, mycotoxins, residual solvents, and other impurities.
Delta-10 to delta-8 ratio
As we know, delta-10 products aren’t just about the delta-10. Nearly all products also include the similar, but slightly more psychoactive delta-8 cannabinoid.
