Delta 8 Sprays

Get your daily hit of delta-8 with easy-to-use sprays. Healthier than smoking and vaping products and less fiddly than tinctures, delta-8 sprays offer maximum convenience and dosing accuracy.

In this guide, I’ll cover everything you need to know about delta-8 sprays and the different products on the market. But first, here’s my top five.

1. Delta 8 Pharma Grade – Delta-8 THC Flower Spray

THC Flower Spray

This high-strength delta-8 spray from Delta 8 Pharma Grade stands well clear of the competition. With a whopping 5000mg of hemp-derived delta-8 extract, MCT oil, and a natural blend of OG Kush and Dime OG terpenes, expect powerful effects with a pleasant aftertaste.

This 60ml spray comes in a professional Boston Round Cobalt Blue Spray bottle and boasts more than 83mg of delta-8 extract per ml. Made with CBD-isolate, Delta 8 Pharma Grade’s spray is free from THC and has passed third-party tests.

2. Rift – Delta-8 THC Spray

Delta 8 Spray

Upgrade your delta-8 experience with this hemp-based spray from Rift. The mixture of pure delta-8 extract and MCT oil makes for potent psychoactive effects with a clean finish. Choose between two terpene options: Crunch Berries and Forbidden Ice.

Each 30ml tincture comes with a spray cap to eliminate mess, which is ideal if you want to dose up while out and about. With zero detectable delta-9-THC, Rift’s spray is legal and has received third-party approval.

Available potencies: 750mg (25mg/ml), 1500mg (60mg/ml)

3. Above By Sunmed – Delta-8 THC Water Soluble Spray

THC Water Soluble Spray

Third on my list is this water-soluble delta-8 spray from Above By Sunmed. Bucking the trend, this product contains a full-spectrum hemp extract rather than delta-8 isolate and brings out all the benefits of the entourage effect.

Above By Sunmed promises fast-acting effects and a fruity burst of guava with every 3mg spray. This delta-8 spray is excellent at boosting your mood and keeping you in balance. Best of all, it contains less than 0.3% THC and has passed third-party checks.

Available potencies: 200mg (20mg/ml), 600mg (20mg/ml), 1200mg (40mg/ml)

4. SPR8 V.90B Fierce – Delta-8 THC Oral Spray (3300mg)

Delta-8 THC Oral Spray

While I still question the name, I was won over by SPR8’s delta-8 oral spray. The V.90B Fierce packs a real punch, with 3300mg of delta-8 extract infused into just 22 ml of spray. Each hit delivers between 30 to 36mg of lab-tested and approved delta-8.

Made in the USA with MCT oil and sunflower lecithin, this potent spray is perfect for taking under the tongue or mixing into foods and beverages. It’s also totally mess-free, with the oil administered in a straight, steady stream as opposed to a cone of droplets.

5. Boston Hempire – Delta-8 High Life Chocolate Mint Sublingual Mist

Delta-8 Chocolate

Enjoy delta-8 more conveniently and deliciously than ever before with Boston Hempire’s Chocolate Mint Sublingual Mist.

With 6mg per spray and 360mg of delta-8 per bottle, this is a wonderful way of familiarizing yourself with delta-8’s psychoactive effects. Spray under the tongue and hold for up to 60 seconds before swallowing.

Made with organic hemp and natural ingredients, Boston Hempire’s spray contains pure delta-8 extract and not a hint of CBD or any secondary cannabinoids. This 10ml spray is THC-free and is third-party approved by Green Leaf Lab.

What are Delta-8 Sprays?

Delta-8 sprays are legal, psychoactive products, mostly designed for sublingual absorption under the tongue. However, you can also get delta-8 sprays intended for spraying hemp flowers to increase potency. We’re going to focus on the methods and benefits of taking delta-8 directly.

Delta-8 sprays typically contain delta-8 distillate and MCT oil. Some brands add in CBD-rich, full-spectrum hemp extract or natural terpene profiles to promote a specific experience – such as increased energy or relaxation.

Delta-8-THC (delta-8) produces psychoactive and mind-altering effects but is legal as per federal law. Like the more well-known but illegal delta-9-THC (THC), delta-8 is a popular recreational drug but also has several potential therapeutic uses.

Studies show that delta-8 has pain-killing properties, produces anti-anxiety and anti-emetic effects, and increases appetite. Delta-8 doesn’t get you as high as THC, but this is easily addressed by just taking a higher dose.

Benefits of Delta-8 Sprays

Delta-8 Sprays

Convenience: Delta-8 sprays are simple to use and mess-free. Just spray under the tongue, hold for up to 60 seconds, and start enjoying your high within minutes. Most brands even tell you how much delta-8 spray is released per spray, allowing you to dose with precision.

Rapid effects: The sublingual absorption intake method is second only to inhalation (vaping and smoking) for speed of effects. Providing a quick and intense high, delta-8 sprays are more efficient than capsules and edibles and handy if you don’t want to be stoned all day.

Safe consumption method: In contrast to smoking and vaping, delta-8 sprays are much safer. Sure, the delta-8 itself may still cause side effects, but taking it doesn’t put your health at risk. Vaping may be a lot safer than smoking, but it’s still not risk-free.

Discretion: Sparking up a fat joint isn’t always feasible. If you need to be discreet about your delta-8 consumption, unassuming sprays are a great way to do it. No need to worry about smelly smoke or vapor; you can be dosed up in a couple of seconds before anybody has the chance to notice.

Versatility: While under-the-tongue sublingual absorption is the most popular method of taking delta-8, it’s not the only one. You can add delta-8 sprays to beverages and foods for a longer-lasting high, or apply them to the skin for targeted relief.

Why Delta-8 Sprays Are Legal

Considering that the psychoactive effects of delta-8 are almost identical to good old marijuana, you may be surprised that it’s legal.

Delta-8 products only became legal in 2018, when federal lawmakers voted through the Agriculture Improvement Act (Farm Bill), relaxing laws on hemp.

In a nutshell, the bill legalized all hemp-derived products with less than 0.3% THC. The caveat on THC was meant to stop the emergence of legal, hemp-based highs.

But clearly, this hasn’t happened, with hemp businesses turning toward other – now legal – tetrahydrocannabinol like delta-8.

It’s not quite that straightforward. Manufacturers aren’t extracting delta-8 from hemp plants and sticking it into spray bottles. Hemp doesn’t make enough delta-8 for that. Instead, delta-8 is mostly synthesized in a lab using hemp-derived CBD isolate.

Lab synthesis is controversial, but it’s not illegal. CBD naturally changes into delta-8 over time due to isomerization – lab technicians are simply streamlining the process.

What to Look For When Buying Delta-8 Sprays

With hundreds of delta-8 brands to choose from, deciding who to go with can be a challenge. Even more so given that the market has plenty of scammers and bad actors looking to take you for a ride. All the sprays featured in my top five list are genuine and third-party tested.

When buying delta-8 sprays, first make sure that a product is legit, and then work out whether it’s suitable for your needs. Here’s what you need to look for.

Third-Party Certificates of Analysis

Lab Test

In many industries, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates products and enforces certain quality standards. However, since delta-8 products are not FDA-regulated, the industry uses a third-party testing system instead.

Genuine delta-8 sprays are accompanied by an independent lab report or a certificate of analysis. These confirm that products have less than 0.3% THC, do not contain heavy metals or other toxins, and have as much delta-8 as claimed.

Third-party testing helps you stay safe when purchasing delta-8. Legit companies love certificates of analysis as they confirm they are doing everything right. Scammers hate them as it shows them up for what they are.

Cannabinoid Concentrations and Delta-8 Potency

Delta-8 sprays vary in strength – the SPR8 spray delivers more than 30mg of delta-8 per hit, whereas the Boston Hempire spray administers just 6mg. First-timers should start slowly and gradually build up.

If you’re used to dosing with regular THC, remember that delta-8 is less potent and adjust your dosage accordingly. Thankfully, delta-8 sprays make it easy to get a specific dose.

Some delta-8 sprays also contain CBD-isolate or full-spectrum hemp extract with an array of cannabinoids. These compounds also affect how strong your high will be. Sprays with CBD are less intoxicating and are recommended if you’re looking for a therapeutic product.

Terpenes and Other Ingredients

Nutrition Facts

You should also check for medium-chained triglyceride (MCT) oil and terpenes. Many delta-8 sprays are blended with MCT oil – this dilutes the delta-8 extract while increasing its effectiveness.

Delta-8 mixed with MCT oil is stronger because of increased bioavailability. Your body only absorbs a fraction of your delta-8 dose into the bloodstream. MCT oil makes the fraction bigger!

Not all brands manufacture delta-8 sprays with terpenes, but products infused with these compounds give you a different high, depending on the terpene profile.

Some terpenes make your delta-8 high more cerebral and energizing, while others have a more soothing effect. Don’t rush in! Decide what type of high you want before parting with your money.

How to Store Your Delta-8 Spray

Store your delta-8 spray in a cool, dark, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children. Keep the cap sealed when not in use.

Cannabinoids degrade over time due to oxidation, light degradation, and other factors. Proper storage helps extend the lifespan of your delta-8 spray.

How Long Does Delta-8 Spray Last?

The high from delta-8 spray lasts for three to four hours if taken sublingually, and up to eight hours if consumed food and beverages. If you have a high tolerance to delta-8 or THC, you may find your high wears off more quickly.

Sublingually absorbed delta-8 starts to work just a few minutes after consumption, whereas delta-8 sprays taken orally might not start getting you high for an hour or so.

Effects from taking delta-8 under the tongue typically peak within an hour before gradually wearing off. The high from delta-8 in food and beverages peaks after two to three hours and then plateaus before declining.

If you haven’t tried delta-8 sprays before, I suggest starting with caution. Begin with a relatively low dose and wait for the high to reach its peak before topping up. Taking a second dose too quickly risks getting you much more stoned than intended and giving you anxiety.

Purchasing Delta-8 Online vs. Shops Near Me

Purchasing Delta-8

Delta-8’s exploding popularity means there is no shortage of places to buy sprays and other products. If you’re ready to make your first purchase, it’s better to buy from an online vendor than at a local store.

Since the delta-8 market is unregulated, you must ensure your purchase is from a trustworthy and well-informed vendor. A specialist online hemp store, is a much safer bet than your local convenience store or gas station.

Firstly, adopt a rigorous process when choosing new stock – delta-8 products must be third-party lab-tested, for instance. Unfortunately, non-specialist stores that are only interested in cashing in on the delta-8 craze are less diligent and more likely to stock low-quality products.

It’s not make-or-break for a convenience store to sell sketchy delta-8. But if an online hemp company starts selling dodgy products, they aren’t going to be in business for long.

In addition, brick-and-mortar stores cannot compete with online stores on price, and only dispensaries can rival online vendors for variety. Simply put, it’s safer, cheaper, and more convenient to buy delta-8 products online.
