How to Take Kratom for Maximum Results

One of the many great things about kratom is the myriad of ways you can take it. Each method of consumption offers slightly different results, but all are effective nonetheless.

The following 4 methods are the most common ways to consume kratom:

  1. Toss and Wash
  2. Tincture
  3. Tea
  4. Capsules

Based off of years of experience and research, I will be happy to thoroughly explain each of the four ways to take kratom so that you can pick the one that is best for you. Let’s get started!

1. Toss and Wash

Most Potent Results

Due to the immediate and potent results, the toss and wash is my favorite way of taking kratom. This method may sound complicated, but it’s actually the simplest.

To perform the toss and wash:

  1. Take a spoonful of kratom (containing your personal dose)
  2. Drink some water
  3. Swirl the kratom in your mouth
  4. And swallow

That’s it!

It’s fast, it’s easy, but it tastes like hell. The reason most people avoid the toss and wash is due to kratom’s extreme bitterness. However, if you can withstand a strong bitter flavor, this method may be for you.

Additionally, the effects begin to kick in as quickly as 10-15 minutes! You just can’t beat the results.

I also notice the effects tend to be more potent. For example, 4 grams of Green Maeng Da powder is all I need to experience an awesome euphoria.

If I tried to obtain the same potent euphoria by preparing a tea with 4 grams of GMD powder, the effects would be unsatisfactory, to say the least.

2. Kratom Capsules

Best to Avoid Bitterness

Kratom Capsules

If you don’t enjoy the bitter taste contained in kratom powder, I have great news for you.

Kratom capsules are the perfect way to bypass the bitterness.

Kratom capsules are, in a nutshell, kratom powder encapsulated in vegetable casing. The caps at Kratom Krush each contain 0.7 grams of powder.

Just like with the toss and wash method, all you need is a glass of water and you’re good to go. The downside, however, is the delay for the effects to kick in.

With capsules, you can expect to wait as long as 30-45 minutes before you BEGIN to feel the effects because your stomach has to first break down the capsules prior to absorbing the alkaloids in the powder.

With regard to potency, I would say the toss and wash is better, but not by much. Capsules can and will pack a punch, especially if you invested in a potent strain such as Green Maeng Da or Red Bali.

3. Kratom Tea

There are multiple ways to prepare kratom tea, such as cold infusions, hot infusions, or sun tea (solar infusion).

For the sake of keeping it simple, I’m going to refer to hot infusions from here on out when I mention kratom tea, as they are the most popular way to prepare them.

A hot infusion is prepared by:

  1. Boiling water
  2. Dispensing the boiling water into a container with kratom powder or leaves
  3. Letting it sit for 30-60 minutes
  4. Straining the solution into a cup and adding honey

As you can see, preparing kratom tea is the most time consuming of all methods, and that’s not the only downfall. In order to obtain the same results as the toss and wash or capsules, you’ll need to use more powder (about twice as much).

In other words, it’s more costly.

Don’t get me wrong, I love kratom tea as much as the next guy, but given the option, well, this would be my last choice.

However, the good news is that kratom tea is very fast acting. Sometimes faster than the toss and wash depending on how much and how fast you drink it.

Kratom tea is not as bitter as the toss and wash, but it’s close. You can add honey to your tea to reduce the bitterness, just don’t expect to completely remove it.

4. Kratom Tincture

Most Convenient

Kratom Tinctures

Although kratom tinctures are not as popular as the previous ways of ingesting kratom, they’re extremely effective and convenient.

You can carry it with you everywhere, consume in a matter of seconds, and feel the effects within minutes.

For starters, you don’t have to worry about making a mess and you don’t even need water. You simply squeeze a few drops underneath your tongue using the built-in dripper and you’re ready to go.

The reason for placing the drops underneath the tongue is due to an enzyme found in saliva called amylase. Enzymes are proteins that facilitate certain physiological symptoms.

In this case, they facilitate the breakdown of alkaloids while they’re still in your mouth. Therefore, by the time they reach your stomach the rate of absorption is increased, and you feel the effects extremely fast.
